Waiala Cove is a small semi-protected cove of the overall much larger ‘Ahihi Bay. It is popular since it’s a convenient place for snorkelers to get in the water without hiking or climbing down cliffs. Before 8 AM is the best time to visit La Perouse, as in the late afternoon the northwest swells can make the water much rougher. It is  one of the better places on Maui to experience  Hawaii's rich underwater sealife as they are protected and seem to gather here as a sanctuary
